Donations, Donations, Donations
Sunrise Chapter has still been working hard this year supporting two charities in Henderson – Serving Our Kids Foundation and S.A.F.E. House. We collected food all year long for Serving Our Kids and volunteered to ‘bag’ the food several evenings. On December 15th, our Worthy Matron delivered the most recent donations. Dale, the Executive Director, was most appreciative and said that any donation no matter how small is greatly appreciated. Currently, they are serving over 3,500 children a weekend and working with Three Square to distribute the food each week. So, please continue to collect items to donate. Be sure to check out the list of items they accept.
S.A.F.E. House is a domestic violence shelter in Henderson. Several years ago our Sister Glennie Hagman, Past Matron, began an effort to collect new pajamas to donate around the holiday times. For the last two years, our Chapter has continued this support. On December 15th, our Worthy Matron delivered 28 pairs of new pajamas and a large bag of toothbrushes and toothpaste. A huge laundry basket of seventeen sets for children and eleven sets for women was presented to the SAFE House Director with the promise of more donations to come before Christmas. A special thank you to the six Sisters and two Brothers who helped us with this project. You are awesome!
