Sister Beverly Byrns, Past Matron

It was with heavy hearts that we learned our Past Matron and 25.3 year-member, Sister Beverly Byrns, stepped into heaven on June 20, 2020.  She had a seizure and a hard fall that resulted in an inoperable brain bleed.

Sister Beverly was an extremely active member of our Chapter until she began to have frequent seizures.  She served as a Chapter officer for 16 years, most recently in 2015.  Sister Beverly joined Sunrise Chapter in 1995 upon the recommendation of her mother and father-in-law, Bev and Stuart Farmer.  In her Eastern Star career, she served in all five Star point stations (several two and three times), two years as our Secretary, and in all line officer positions. There were few dry eyes when she’d give Martha’s initiation lecture.  Beverly was Worthy Matron in 2000 with Brother Rudy Crisostomo as her Worthy Patron.  Sister Beverly was honored to serve as the Grand Representative of New Mexico in Nevada in 2001 and then of Ohio in Nevada in 2008.  As a youth, she was active in Job’s Daughters and served as Honored Queen in Las Vegas.  Sister Beverly was an extremely caring and talented person.  A professional caterer, she helped make a lot of our events extra special with her ‘professional touch.’  Many remember the fun bus trips that she organized to visit out-of-town Chapter official visits with her husband as our driver.  The fun games and special refreshments made the hours pass by so quickly.  Our condolences are extended to her faithful husband Kenny, their three sons, and families.

A combined Eastern Star and Job’s Daughters memorial service was held on November 8, at 2:00 PM at the Henderson Masonic Lodge.  She is missed by many who loved her.
