Lucille Kubic Memorial Photo

Sadly, our Golden Chain has again been broken with the passing of our Past Matron Sister Lucille “Mamasan” Kubic on July 24, 2020.  Mamasan was 102 years young and a faithful 62.21-year member of our Order.  Until recent years, Sister Lucille was very active in Sunrise Chapter with her daughter, PGM Jada A. Kubic, who was always by her side.  Sister Lucille served as our Worthy Matron in 1965 with James Leavitt as her Worthy Patron.  She served the Chapter as Chaplain three times, in all line officer positions, and many years as our Prompter.  In 1989, Sister Lucille served as the Grand Chaplain of Nevada during her daughter’s year in the Grand East.  Her devotion to the Order was recognized by the Grand Chapter as Representative appointments to Rhode Island (1969), South Carolina (1975), Iowa (1977), and Saskatchewan (2002).  She will be missed by many who loved her.  Mamasan’s final resting place is beside her husband at Palm Mortuary on Boulder Highway, Henderson.  A simple service with internment, coordinated by our Chapter, was held on August 4th at Palm Mortuary which several of our members were able to attend.  Eastern Star services were held by Sunrise Chapter on Sunday, October 25, 1:00 PM at the Henderson Masonic Lodge.  This date would have been Mamasan’s 103rd birthday and is also Sister Jada’s birth date.

“May the Lord watch between me and Thee while we are absent from one another.”
